This solid walnut Victorian library table is from the Renaissance Revival period.  This makes the perfect writing or computer desk.  The top has a replace felt, which is in excellent condition and a lovely, wide moulded edge.  The desk is lovely from all four sides.  Both the front and back appears to have 2 drawers.  In actuality, the front and back each have one real, hand dovetailed drawer and one faux drawer.  Notice the carved, recessed wooden pulls.  These are often referred to as a partner’s desk, whereas 2 people can set across from one another and use a singular desk.  The tabletop has lovely rounded ends resting on boldly carved legs.  Check out the shapely cross stretcher with center finial and 2 fancy pierced carved finials at each end.  The table rests on wooden casters.  The table finish and frame are in excellent condition.
