Victorian Oval Marble Top Table

This walnut Victorian marble top oval table has a very unusual base.  The original marble has a moulded edge and is in excellent condition.  The table skirt is very curvaceous and deeply carved.  There is one carved element or turning missing on the skirt and is located just above one of the legs.  The ornately carved base uses 2 pedestals to support the top.  The boldly carved and turned finials along the stretcher are truly impressive.  Look closely and you will see 1 small finial and 2 roundels missing.  Because the carvings are so extensive, the missing elements are only noticeable upon very close examination and do not distract from the table dynamic presence.  Check out the 4 carved paw feet – rarely seen on marble top Victorian furniture.  The table rests on its original casters.  The finish is in excellent condition having a rich color and patina.
