Chippendale Slant Front Desk

This solid maple slant front desk was custom made and mimics an 18th century design.  Check out the hand-dovetailing on the top of the case – just like how the originals were made.  The slant lid has its cast brass original hardware and working lock.  There are 2 slide outs, which support the writing surface when the lid is down.  Inside is a wonderful stepped out interior.  There are 9 various sized hand-dovetailed drawers, 4 cubbies and one document door.  Notice the fan carvings on the door and 2 of the drawers.  The document door retains its original working lock as well.  Below are 4, lipped, hand-dovetailed drawers, which graduate in size.  All have their original casts brass pulls.  The desk rests on scalloped block feet.  The finish is in excellent condition with a warm color and soft patina.
