There is another almost identical cabinet currently on our site - just in case you are looking for a pair! The cabinet is composed of 2 separate pieces. The top half has dramatically arched pediment with crisply carved rosettes on the swans necks and a central flame finial. Below the bold cornice is a delicately carved leaf and shell design. The pair of arched doors have 8 beveled glass panels. These are panes of glass individually set between the separate wooden frames - a sign of quality. The doors have ornate solid brass key escutcheons and their original lock and key. inside the cabinet top are 3 butterfly shaped shelves with plate grooves. There are currently cup hooks used to hold coffee/tea cups. These can be easily removed if not in use. On each side of the doors, top and bottom, are reeded quarter columns. The cabinet base has a single hand dovetailed drawer with solid brass pierced pulls. Below are 2 small inset raised panel doors with finely carved shells. The doors have their original working lock and solid brass key escutcheons. Inside is a single shelf. Below the doors is a rope carved moulding with an acanthus leaf carving at each corner. The corner cupboard rests on crisply carved ball and claw feet with carved shells on the knees. The cabinet retains its original finish which is in excellent condition. The very back corner leg has a wooden brace, but is not visible. The cabinet requires 2 walls at least 22.5" from the corner. This highly formal cabinet is very desirable due to its narrow size and custom made features.
