Dining Extension Table, French Style, Rococo, Highly CarvedDescription: This meticulously carved walnut table will expand to 128". The table could easily accommodate 10-12 people. There are 2 leaves, which are hidden under its top and by pulling on each end, they are revealed. Each leaf measures 26" wide. The tabletop is highly figured or burled walnut with a banded edge. The table is made of walnut, which was originally lightened for a dramatic affect. The shapely table skirt and legs are covered with realistically carved garlands of flowers, leaves, acanthus leaves and scrolling vines. These are not subtle carvings. They appear to jump off the surface. There are also applied burled walnut panels on all 4 sides of the table skirt. The base has an elegant curvaceous stretcher supporting the legs. Notice the bold and dramatic central carvings between the interior legs. The table has its original finish, which is in excellent condition. There are some minor rubs and scratches on the top, which is to be expected. The table is extremely sturdy, even with the leaves extended. There are no breaks or repairs.
