The hard to find style is called Art Nouveau, which encompasses graceful and flowing lines with simplified carvings. The upholstered area on the backs of the chairs has sweeping curves with applied leaf like carvings. The front of the seats have a wonderful shape. The front serpentine legs are delicate looking but extremely secure due to the additional stretchers. The chairs are substantial in size. The armchairs measure 25" wide, 21" deep and 40.5" tall. The side chairs measure 20" wide, 19" deep and 38.5" tall. The seats have springs, which are in excellent condition. The back and seats are beautifully upholstered in an off white tone on tone in a scrolling leaf pattern. The fabric is in excellent condition. The finish is also in excellent condition and the frames are all tight with no breaks or repairs. These chairs are extremely well made and comfortable.
