CLICK ABOVE PHOTO FOR DETAILSDescription: This early walnut cradle was made in Pennsylvania. It has its original inset bottom frame designed to string rope. This would have held the feather mattress. Notice the buttons on the sides of the cradle which were used to secure the child and its bed coverings. The rockers are in excellent condition. Hardwood cradles are less common than the more typical pine or poplar ones. Each end has a cut out designed as hand holds to easily move the cradle. There appears to be a small carving missing above the top of one hand hold. It is not obvious and does not distract from the cradle's appeal. The finish is original and in very food condition. The frame is tight and ready for actual use. Circa: 1830-1840 Measurements: 23.5"h X 39"w X 20"d Condition: Very Good Stock Number: K486 Price: $475.00
